PRACTICAL STUDY FOR ESTIMATING EARTHQUAKE INTENSITY BY FUZZY SET

摘要
本文係依據民國48年8月恆春烈震調查報告(呂新民,民國49年)房屋損壞記錄,利用模糊集理論來推估該次地震之強度。分析之方法乃先將土埆房屋損壞情況分成全毀至無損等五個等級,將烈震調查報告所列之全倒,半倒,大破,小破等記錄乘以適當之權重,製作出各級損壞之相對頻度(relative frequency)分佈表,另依據該報告房屋全潰率推估最大震度為滿洲鄉港口村的0.3g,設此強度為該次烈震的最大強度級數,而將強度級數分成六級,這些級數並非確定的數值,而是具有邊界模糊的鐘形分佈,再仿效Juang & Elton(1986)分析1886年美國南卡州Charleston烈震的方法,各以四種模糊集分析法來分析恆春等三鄉鎮之震害資料。分析結果可得在該次烈震時滿洲鄉的強度可能0.3g,恆春鎮可能為0.2g,車城鄉為0.1g,此結果與該次烈震調查報告依照房屋全潰率推定的結果極為接近,但該報告只考慮房屋全毀之災情,本文則對房屋無損至全毀等災情分五個等級做全面的考量。在實際應用上,將來可依本文方法,去推估台灣更早期的地震強度
英文摘要
This paper using fuzzy set theory and building damage records collected from Hengchun Earthquake, 1959, estimated the earthquake intensity in Hengchun, Manchou, and Cherchen.
Firstly we divide the building damage into five classes, then, multiplied them with proper weight to yield the relative frequency for each damage class.
On the other hand, we separate the earthquake intensity collected from this area into six grades with fuzzy distribution.
Finally, based on analytical method presented by Juang & Elton(1986), we estimate the intensity in Hengchun, Manchou and Cherchen.
The results are similar to that of Lu's, which were evaluated by the total damage ratio in the earthquake report of 1959.
