A STUDY ON THE GROUND STRUCTURES AND ENGINEERING CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SUBSOILS IN KAO-HSIUNG

摘要
國內在都市計畫中所含之土地使用計畫或分區使用管制或捷運系統的規劃,一般而言,在欠缺完整的地質資料下,僅能參考社會、經濟,發展現況及有關計畫指導原則而決定,日後再經地質調查為結構物安全而採行補救措施,無形中浪費鉅額金錢,殊為可惜。台灣係一海島,地層構造複雜多夾含軟弱黏土層,同時又位於地震帶中,影響工程之設計及施工安全至鉅,為使得日後經濟損失減至最低,而公共安全又有保障,吾人最好能對當地的地層結構及工程特性多加認識,始為上策。國外有鑑於都會區大地工程資料及特性研究的重要性,建立了頗多資料檔案及研究工作,諸如奧斯汀地區環境地質資料檔及芝加哥、舊金山灣、香港、比利時之地質特性研究;而在國內,歷年來有吳偉特、洪如江、莫若楫、黃鎮臺、歐晉德.....等十餘位專家學者,分別對台北盆地作大地工程方面的研究探討,顯示國內類似研究工作亦不落外人之後。作者自1971年起,分別多次對高雄市土壤結構與特性作一系列的研究。本文乃綜合上述研究後,分述高雄市由北向南、由東向西,其地層結構及工程特性的變化情形。
英文摘要
For providing useful reference and practical applications of the ground informations of a city like Kao-Hsiung, data of the results of soil exploration should be collected, analysed, and filed in such a format which can be retrieved with the aid of a computer. The research performed by the author reveals that the surface ground of the northern most districts(such as Nantzu, Kushan)and that of the southernmost district Hsiau-Kang in Kao-Hsiung are mostly composed of clay layer although silts and loose fine sand can be found in some localities. The bearing capacity of the surface ground in the CBD districts such as Yen-Cheng, Chien-Chin, Hsin-Hsing, Lin-Ya, San-Min and Chien-Chen is found to be very low. The ground water table is very near to the ground surface of every area in Kao-Hsiung City during summer rainy season. Special attentions should be paid to the safety of engineering constructions in Kao-Hsiung.
